The Golden Eye

A golden-brown glow, like early-autumn sunlight: bright, never glaring.

Tiger’s eye is often associated with courage, focus and protection. In The Golden Eye, its golden-brown bands catch the light like early-autumn sun: bright but never glaring, moving slowly across each bead. Round tiger’s eye beads are strung into a necklace, set along fine gold-toned chains, or held in gold-toned hoops and an open pendant. The pieces sit easily with muted tailoring, soft-toned modern Chinese-style dressing or a plain white shirt.

Inspiration and meaning

Tiger’s eye is the stone of this series. Its golden-brown bands are often associated with courage, focus and protection, and the name L’Œil d’Or comes from the way light moves across each bead: like early-autumn sunlight, bright but never glaring. Presented around Liqiu, the start of autumn in the Chinese calendar, the pieces are meant to sit easily with muted tailoring, soft modern Chinese-style dressing or a plain white shirt.
